I don’t know how it happened, but I am so consumed with my obsession that I might not have time to actually attend births anymore! (Only kidding!)
But, I might be addicted.
Okay, I know I am.
I’ve got my Birth Art Circles and Childbirth Classes. That’s two types. We circle up at La Leche League too, though, I must say, I think that is mostly to contain the crawling babies and escaping toddlers.
And then there are the non-birth related ones. That is, the Women’s Circle I facilitate every month, and the Red Tent I attend. That makes five Circles.
You see? I’m all about the Circles.
I know I am not alone in the desire to reconnect: in person, in groups, with intention, and even with a little bit (or a heaping spoonful) of ceremony. I know this because we sit shoulder-to-shoulder, crowded and cozy, oozing with excitement over having the chance to simply be!
To simply Be!
Since I began facilitating and attending Women’s Circles I have witnessed women that I know, and women I have come to know, grow and change. And so have I. I have been immensely changed by the love I have received and the love I have given. Which is graciously accepted.
- share what is on your mind, in your heart
- consciously create a non-judgmental space
- grow, by being vulnerable, open, and honest, even if it doesn’t look “right,” or proper, or cool, or feminine. . . vulnerability induces growth!
- hold space: meaning to simply be present for another person, there is no need to “solve” or “fix” anyone or anything
- celebrate one another
- build community among women of all ages, on all sorts of labyrinthine paths. . .
Needless to say, I recommend it. To sit in Circle. To find a small tribe. Manifest a dream or two in the company of loving and open hearts.
Don’t know anyone into this Circle stuff? Start it yourself. I did! If you build it. . .
